About her practice, Kate says: “Abstraction, movement, path. Any definition makes the process itself sound primitive. In order to save the essence, one must save freedom, and freedom is impossible in the framework of any concepts and definitions. Freedom is a void, which encloses all the possible options. This thought inspires me. Impermanence, imperfectness, spontaneity, absurdity, action. The contrast between color and texture, the relationship between form and rhythm. Trees in the park, scraps of billboards, graffiti on the streets of a megapolis, human relationships, languages – all this is an abstract pattern, a mix which serves 24/7 as my source of inspiration. For me, creativity is a way to study life, interact with myself and the world around.”
