“In my practice I explore ideas about everyday life. Inspiration comes from observing people, their relationships, oddities, fears and affections. More often I refer not to the people themselves, but to the spaces in which they live, and to the objects with which they interact – these are stories that remain behind the curtains, personal experiences expressed through deliberately simple, everyday objects. These interesting finds develop into plots: sometimes real, and sometimes fictional. For me, the peculiarity of the experience of creating an art piece lies not only in the search for ideas, but also in the process of working on a painting itself.” – says Ekaterina.
