On 10 December the team of SAMPLE gallery together with the designer of Masterpeace brand Evgeniya Linovich presented their first joint project – a collection of dishes covered with Gleb Baranov’s watercolor drawings. His decorative and symbolic patterns on porcelain, presented in fresh and trendy shades, are made in the technique of decal: images are transferred from a paper base to the material.
“I’ve always wanted to work on a collection of porcelain. I have known the founders of the online gallery SAMPLE for a long time and I share their support for young artists at the beginning of their careers and working outside of institutions. So, when they approached me with the idea of launching a joint collection, I immediately agreed”, says Evgeniya Linovich.
All in all, there were several objects in the collection: a tea and coffee pair, a teapot, large and small dishes. The collection was a wonderful gift and decorated the New Year’s tables of the event visitors. “When coming up with the print for the collabration we turned to the works of the artist Gleb Baranov, with whom we started collaborating after his successful participation in the fair of contemporary young art blazar 2021. One of his typical features is the use of images of wild cats, especially the tiger, the symbol of 2022,” says Alexandra Lekomtseva, general director of blazar fair and co-founder of the SAMPLE project.
The presentation of the collection was accompanied by a special show of the musical performance “An Evening of the White Guard Song” in the House Museum of K.S. Stanislavsky. Guests of the evening strolled through the mansion, the interiors and atmosphere of which dispose to the pre-New Year’s Eve. The creative mood of the evening was supported by the Simple wine company, the permanent partner and friend of the SAMPLE project.
